Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This page explains how we look after your data when you use our services, and what your rights are.
1. Important information and who we are
Blanc de Provence Cleaners Limited (“BLANC”, “we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we look after your personal data when you use our services, and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
Blanc de Provence Cleaners Limited is the controller responsible for your personal data. We have appointed a data privacy manager who oversees questions relating to this policy — if you have any questions, including requests to exercise your legal rights, please contact us at gdpr@blancliving.co.
You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk). We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns before you approach the ICO, so please contact us in the first instance.
This website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. We do not control these third-party sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices — we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.
2. The data we collect about you
Personal data means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, grouped together as follows:
- Identity Data — first name, last name, title, date of birth and similar identifiers.
- Contact Data — billing address, home address, email address and telephone numbers.
- Transaction Data — details of payments and services you have booked with us. We do not store card details on our own servers; payments are processed and encrypted by our secure payment provider.
- Technical Data — IP address, browser type and version, time zone setting and similar technology on the devices you use to access our website.
- Profile Data — your username and password, bookings made by you, your preferences and feedback.
- Usage Data — information about how you use our website and services.
- Marketing & Communications Data — your preferences in receiving marketing from us and your communication preferences.
We may also collect, use and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose — this data does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity.
3. How is your personal data collected?
We use different methods to collect data from and about you, including:
- Direct interactions. You may give us your Identity and Contact Data by filling in forms or corresponding with us by phone, email or in one of our studios — for example when you create an account, book a service, or contact our Customer Care team.
- Automated technologies. As you interact with our website, we automatically collect Technical Data about your equipment and browsing actions using cookies and similar technologies.
4. How we use your personal data
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we use your personal data where it is necessary to perform our contract with you, where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (and your interests and rights do not override those), or where we need to comply with a legal obligation.
We use your data to: register you as a customer; process and deliver your order, including managing payments and communicating with you about your booking; manage our relationship with you, including customer service and updates to our policies; administer and protect our business and website; and, where you’ve agreed, to send you relevant marketing about our services.
We will get your express consent before sharing your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes, and you can ask us to stop sending marketing messages at any time.
5. Cookies
You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when websites set or access cookies. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of our website may become inaccessible or not function properly.
6. Disclosures of your personal data
We may share your personal data with trusted third parties who help us run our business — for example, partners who assist with collection, cleaning and delivery, hosting of our website and booking systems, and specialist cleaning services for specific items. We require all third parties to respect the security of your data and to treat it in accordance with the law, and we never allow them to use your personal data for their own purposes.
We may also share data with professional advisers, regulators and authorities where required by law, or with a buyer if we sell or reorganise any part of our business.
7. Data security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, accessed, altered or disclosed in an unauthorised way. Access to your personal data is limited to those employees, agents and contractors who have a genuine business need to know, and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality. We have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator where we are legally required to do so.
8. Data retention
We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax or accounting requirements. By law, we are required to keep basic customer information (Contact, Identity and Transaction Data) for six years after you cease being a customer, for tax purposes. In some circumstances you can ask us to delete your data sooner — see Your Legal Rights below.
9. Your legal rights
Under data protection law, you have rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to:
- Request access to your personal data.
- Request correction of your personal data.
- Request erasure of your personal data.
- Object to processing of your personal data.
- Request restriction of processing of your personal data.
- Request transfer of your personal data.
- Withdraw consent at any time where we are relying on consent to process your data.
You will not usually have to pay a fee to exercise any of these rights. If you wish to exercise any of the rights set out above, please contact us at gdpr@blancliving.co. We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month.
