Ozone treatment London

Ozone treatment, without water or solvents

Ozone treatment, sometimes called ozone disinfection, uses O₃, an active form of oxygen, to break down bacteria and odour molecules and to treat adult clothes moths, with nothing left behind but the item itself.

Ozone odour removal for delicate clothes

A jumper pulled from summer storage with a musty smell, or a coat that has picked up smoke on an evening out, needs something that reaches the fibre, not a scent that covers it.

Luxury wardrobes hold pieces that should not be over-cleaned: cashmere and knitwear, vintage silk and anything that cannot take a standard wet or dry clean. Ozone treats them without another wash cycle, as a targeted step, not a default.

What ozone treatment can disinfect

Ozone treatment covers three categories of the wardrobe and the home:

  • Garments: Cashmere, wool coats, silk and other delicate pieces.
  • Accessories: Handbags, hats and leather goods
  • Home textiles: Cushions, curtains and bedding.

The Ozone Treatment process

How BLANC’s Ozone Treatment Disinfects Clothes

Ozone (O₃) is an active form of oxygen that breaks down odour molecules and bacteria in the fibres.

Every piece is inspected and logged, then treated in a sealed, controlled process using patented ozone technology. The ozone reverts to oxygen, leaving no residue. Each item is quality-checked and returned fresh, not masked.

Ozone Safety for Elastane, Rubber and Dyes

Ozone is an oxidiser, so repeated exposure can affect rubber, elastane and certain dyes. Pieces with trims, elastane blends or unusual dyes are inspected individually first, and anything uncertain is assessed before any treatment is agreed, never treated by default.
  • Inspected by hand before any treatment begins
  • Treated in a sealed, controlled process, not an open room
  • Returned residue-free, with nothing left but the item
Ozone sits alongside luxury dry cleaning, not instead of it. Ozone refreshes, while cleaning removes stains and soiling.

Chemical-free moth protection

Protection from moths and odours, without solvents.

Mothballs and chemical sprays leave a lingering smell and a residue on the fabric they are meant to protect. Ozone treatment does the job without either, with no residue and no extra wear.

  • Gentle on fibres: Pieces last longer between full cleans.
  • For delicate pieces: Items that cannot be washed or dry cleaned.
  • A targeted step: Used when needed, not as a default.
Ozone treatment is worth considering at a seasonal wardrobe change, before long-term storage, after a moth sighting, or after a piece has picked up smoke or damp. Where a garment also needs cleaning, BLANC’s biodegradable wet cleaning handles that separately. Our guide to clothes moths covers prevention.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The concentration of O3 used in BLANC’s system disrupts the cellular and respiratory functions of adult clothes moths. Pair with proper storage following our clothes moth guide.

Yes, in most cases. Because ozone breaks down odour-causing organic molecules rather than masking them with perfume, it removes most persistent smoke, sweat, and damp smells.

Yes, most delicate natural fibres respond exceptionally well because the process uses no heat, liquids, or mechanical agitation. Items containing heavy rubber, unsealed elastane, or fragile synthetic dyes are inspected prior to treatment to ensure compatibility.

No. Ozone disinfects and neutralises odours, but it does not lift physical dirt or liquid stains. For garments requiring both, combine ozone with our dry cleaning service.

Ozone treatment uses no solvents, fluids or powders to disinfect and deodorise clothes and textiles. O₃, an active form of oxygen, breaks down bacteria and odour molecules directly, in a sealed process, rather than masking them.

Free collection and delivery is available on orders over £30 across W, SW, NW and central London, including Chelsea, Marylebone, Notting Hill, South Kensington and Knightsbridge, with four studios available for drop-off. Turnaround for ozone treatment is confirmed when you book.
